En la Conferencia sobre Extensión de la Vida celebrada en Atlanta (Georgia, USA) el pasado 5 de noviembre, el Immortality Institute revela una Carta Abierta firmada por unos 60 científicos, médicos y especialistas en ética, respaldando los fundamentos científicos de la criónica.

Carta abierta de científicos sobre la criónica

A quien pueda interesar,

La criónica es un noble esfuerzo basado en la ciencia, cuyo objetivo es el de preservar seres humanos, especialmente el cerebro, utilizando la mejor tecnología disponible. En esta situación se pueden pronosticar futuras tecnologías para la resucitación como la Nanomedicina, que se basará en la reparación molecular, computación avanzada, control minucioso del crecimiento celular, y regeneración de tejidos.

Con la vista puesta hacia estos progresos, existe una posibilidad creíble de que la criónica desempeñe hoy, bajo las mejores condiciones posibles, la preservación de suficiente información neurológica que permita la recuperación eventual de una persona hasta llevarla a un estado de salud completo.

El derecho a elegir la criónica es legítimo, y debería ser respetado.
